Our origin story may surprise you.
A Leap of Faith
Dave Harrigan, the founder of Lakeside Trading LLC, began his journey in retail at the age of 34 by liquidating his 401K (and life savings) to buy a 53-ft trailer of 300+ hand-made clay chimineas from Mexico. Storing them in his basement, Dave began to wholesale chimineas to local garden centers, as well as sell directly to consumers through local seasonal markets.
Rooted in Narragansett
With some retail experience under his belt, Dave began to travel the East Coast seeking unique items to expand his retail offerings. Through those travels, he met shed builders from Pennsylvania and saw how their products and craftsmanship were missing from Rhode Island. He immediately purchased a shed-moving trailer and leased a (previously abandoned 19th-century fishing equipment warehouse) property on South Pier Road in Narragansett that could hold large sheds and storage buildings. Soon, the retail offerings grew to include outdoor furniture and structures as well.
Here to Stay
In 2010, Dave was able to purchase his leased retail space, making 326 S Pier Road Lakeside's forever home. With a 5,000 SQFT showroom and even larger shed display area, the location is perfectly situated to service all of Rhode Island.
Still Going Strong
Lakeside Trading continues to offer high-quality, long-lasting products with top-notch customer service as our first priority. Annually, we install over 1,000 structures, sell over 2,000 pieces of furniture, and answer endless questions about our resident flock of chickens.

Lakeside employs 20 full-time staff, some of whom have been with us for over 15 years. Every single team member genuinely cares about the clients, their specific needs, and making sure every custom or stock order is delivered just the way the customer envisioned.
